FAQs

Do you charge a standard consulting fee?
Absolutely not! We work in referrals. Our agency has grown by doing right by others. They realize that and keep us top of mind.

What plans do you offer?

MLA Health offers many products for individuals, families, self-employed professionals, and small businesses.

Our niche is Private Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) coverage along with supplemental insurance options. These products include upfront benefits, customizable deductibles, accident protection, critical illness, dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term disability, all with lower Max Out of Pocket options.

Can you send me details of the plan?

Yes, after you are shown your coverage options. Any potential customer has the option to set up a screen share or face-to-face meeting. Compliance requires agents to show any potential customer their option to explain coverage and ask questions.

What are the Advantages of a PPO?

Advantages

  • Do not have to select a Primary Care Physician.

  • You can choose any doctor you prefer but offers discounts to those within their preferred network.

  • No referral is required to see a specialist.

  • More flexibility than other plan options.

Is it illegal to not have health insurance in the US?

Health insurance coverage is no longer mandatory at the federal level as of Jan. 1, 2019. Some states still require you to have health insurance coverage to avoid a tax penalty.

In what states is health insurance mandatory?

As of 2022, only five states (California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Vermont) and the District of Columbia require all eligible residents to declare annual proof of health insurance coverage on state taxes.

When is open enrollment through Marketplace?

Open Enrollment for 2023 runs November 1, 2022- January 2023

What if I have employer coverage?

Some employers are flexible with adding or dropping coverage while others are not. In some cases, it may make sense to move you to another plan and/or split a family into separate options.

What if I missed Open Enrollment?

If you've missed open enrollment and still need health insurance, we can help. You may be a great fit for our Private PPO plans or supplemental insurance options.

What makes you different?

I have a 20-year background in consulting and helping others. In my prior role, I assisted laid-off workers to understand FREE benefits and services available through Workforce Solutions and the Department of Labor. Ironically, I eventually found myself on the same layoff line due to a mass company layoff. We can relate firsthand and work to ensure others understand all resources and options available. In addition, we have built amazing referral partnerships to assist our customers.
